Harvest Homecoming - A Local Legacy

Honored by the Library of Congress Bicentennial Local Legacies Project in 2000, the Harvest Homecoming Festival has drawn hundreds of thousands of visitors to New Albany, Indiana and has been growing and thriving since 1967.

The festival was conceived as a means of bringing the people of southern Indiana together to share in its wealth of talent, history, and beauty, as well as to promote the vast tourism opportunities.

What is now more than a week’s worth of activities began with a $300 donation to put on a three-day ‘Pumpkin Festival’, a civic effort by the Tourism Bureau of the New Albany Chamber of Commerce. It is now funded exclusively by Harvest Homecoming Festival Associates, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, fully operated by volunteers and powered by sponsors.

Mission Statement

Harvest Homecoming is a group of volunteers dedicated to providing a family-oriented festival. It unites the community in a spirit of fellowship and is committed to continuous improvement.

A Letter From Our President

Dear Friends of Harvest Homecoming,

I would like to welcome you all to New Albany, Southern Indiana, where magic and memories are made at the Harvest Homecoming, one of the largest annual fall festivals in Indiana. This year’s theme is “Autumn Sock Hop” where we can step back in time, let our hair down and put our worries aside.

Our journey starts with the Parade on the first Saturday in October, come see the floats and listen to the music of the marching bands as kids collect a little candy. We’ll continue into a week full of fun and good times with Booth Days where you will enjoy delicious foods and homemade Autumn crafts. Come take a ride in a hot air balloon, meet the Miss Harvest Homecoming Queens, ride the rides and play a game of corn hole. Don’t miss the big wheel races, the kid’s stage, a car show, and singing and dancing.

Come support the Harvest Homecoming Festival with the purchase of the souvenir “Sock Hop” pin, and visit booths of the participating small business owners who all help to make the Harvest Homecoming a place where you can bring the whole family to have hometown fun and make lasting memories and new friends.

I would like to thank our Executive Board, Board of Directors, Vice Presidents, and all of the Members and Volunteers. And, a very special thank you to all of our valued Sponsors and the City of New Albany.

Looking forward to seeing you there,

Doug Jaques,
Harvest Homecoming President 2024-25
